Insurance Awareness Day!

by Kristina — Categories: Helpful Days8 Comments

“When : Always June 28th

Insurance Awareness Day has got to be one of your top holidays, right!? Now, at this point, one must be asking… Why Insurance Awareness Day? Good question.

Insurance, be it home, auto or life insurance, offers you peace of mind that if something happens, you will be financially protected. Of course when it comes to life insurance, if something happens, you won’t be around to worry about the outcome.

Insurance is a gamble. If you buy it, you’re gambling that something will go wrong. If you don’t buy it, you’re gambling that something will not happen.” – Holiday Insights

Red Rose Day!

by Kristina — Categories: Fun Days!, Helpful Days5 Comments

“Red Rose Day is a time to enjoy and appreciate America’s favorite flower…..the red rose. A red rose signifies love. A June setting for Red Rose Day is very appropriate, as this is by far the most popular month for weddings. And, they are in bloom in the gardens across America this month.

In addition to being the most popular cut flower, roses are also the most popular flower in flower beds and around foundation of houses, garages and sheds. They are easy to grow, producing a bounty of sweet scented flowers from June up to the first frost.

The Origin of Red Rose Day:

The date for this special day is all over the map (errr, calendar). June 12th is by far the most common date for this day.  And, it’s logical, as roses are in full bloom in June.

We did not find any information on the creation of this day in the U.S. This holiday may have been imported from Australia. The Cystic Fibrosis foundation in Australia holds a Red Rose Day and Week. The day varies each year.

Did you know? Each rose color sends a different meaning to the recipient. Make sure you send the right message.” See some of the color meanings below.

Clean up your room day!

by Kristina — Categories: Helpful Days320 Comments
“It’s Clean Up Your Room Day! Have you been avoiding your spring-cleaning this year? Today is the day to get motivated! Whether you decide to tackle a messy closet, a mounting pile of laundry, a whole room, or even the entire house, it’ll be well worth the effort.

The tradition of spring-cleaning dates back to the days when people relied on fire to light and heat their homes through the winter. After months of being shut up with no fresh air, everything in the house would be covered in soot and ash. Spring-cleaning traditionally took place on the first warm day of the season. The entire family would roll up their sleeves and move all the furniture and linens outdoors. They would then clean the house from top to bottom, scrubbing down the walls, beating the dirt out of the carpets, and dusting everything in sight.

Begin your spring-cleaning by putting things away in their proper places and creating piles for trash and donations. Once you’ve decluttered it will become much easier to do the actual vacuuming, dusting, and scrubbing. When you’ve completed your project, remember to reward yourself for all your hard work!” Punchbowl.   Send yourself or a friend Candle Roses®. Happy Clean Up Your Room Day!”

National Honesty Day!

by Kristina — Categories: Helpful Days507 Comments

“National Honesty Day encourages us to be honest today, and everyday. We honestly believe you try your best to be honest.

Honesty is a great virtue. If we want people to believe us when its important, then we need to be open and honest all of the time. We all know about the boy who cried wolf. When a wolf actually appeared, no one believed him.

Celebrate National Honesty Day in a completely open and honest way. There are few rules for this special day……just be honest.

Origin of “National Honesty Day”:

M. Hirsh Goldberg, former press secretary to a governor of Maryland and author of five books, created National Honesty Day in the early 1990s after spending four years researching and writing The Book of Lies (Morrow). This book has been translated into Japanese, Korean and Chinese.”- Holiday Insights
